MILITIA UNIT EVENTS OVERVIEW

At the Niagara Military Heritage Centre, our events bring military heritage to life through immersive experiences, hands-on displays, and community gatherings. We host four major events each year, attracting visitors, enthusiasts, and families from across the region.

OUR RESTORATION PROCESS

  • Step 1 — Historical Research: We begin by gathering documentation, photographs, and technical references to ensure historical accuracy.
  • Step 2 — Assessment and Disassembly: Each vehicle is carefully examined, catalogued, and disassembled to identify structural and mechanical needs.
  • Step 3 — Structural Repairs and Fabrication: Damaged components are repaired or recreated using historically appropriate materials and techniques.

  • Step 4 — Mechanical Restoration: Engines, drivetrains, and functional systems are rebuilt to bring the vehicle back to operational condition whenever possible.
  • Step 5 — Finishing and Detailing: Paint, markings, and finishing touches are applied to reflect the vehicle’s original service appearance.
  • Step 6 — Final Presentation: The restored vehicle becomes part of our collection, educational displays, and public events.
